Successful first class of TASSICA about Advanced Life Support

During the past weekend of January 29th and 30th the first TASSICA class of Advanced Life Support took place in Segovia. The class takes the recent recommendations of the ERC (2010) into account and received an excellent evaluation from its participants.

The above mentioned class was held in the Hotel Santana close to the premises of TASSICA EMERGENCY, TRAINING & RESEARCH S.A. and combined intensive qualitative education with a socio-cultural offer including gastronomy and music.

D. Daniel Ortego Íñigo coordinated an excellent team of lecturers including the doctors Dr. Juana Sojo, Dr. Luis Pardillos Ferrer and the nurses Dr. Fátima Arenillas, Dr. Carmen Cardos, Dr. Miguel Ángel González and Dr. Santiago Apilluelo.

This educational program was based on the acquisition of knowledge by practical experimentation. Therefore, tree stations equipped with the most advanced technical and human resources were used simultaneously to ensure that the participants could carry out the following simulations:

• Airway

• Difficult airway: Combitube/ Larynxtube

• Airway: ML-ML Fastrach

• Handling periparada arrhythmia

• Megacode • Difficult airway: Surgical Handling

• Intraosseous tube (Manual-BIG ONE)

• DESA

On Saturday night the organization fed and entertained all participants with a spectacular dinner, including a stunning flamenco show, and on Sunday they enjoyed the grilled piglet, a typical specialty of Segovia.
